Patrick W. Bussey III
Patrick W. Bussey III is President of Bussey Capital Management LLC, an independent investment business using SA Stone Wealth Management, Inc. as its broker/dealer. Bussey Capital Management LLC is a privately-owned boutique investment practice providing a very personal approach to managing clients’ wealth. The firm serves a very select group of high net worth families, corporations and foundations. The mission of BCM is, we strive to develop long-term relationships with our clients by providing them with a solid, logical and organized plan for making money and minimizing risk.
Patrick grew up in the business. His father, Pat, began as a broker with F.I. Dupont in the late 1960s and then spent many years with EF Hutton. Later, Pat started Eden Financial Group which was one of the first wholesaling organizations in the industry.
Patrick joined Sterne Agee (now known as SA Stone) in Birmingham in 2000 and the first 3 years of his career were spent as lead analyst for products across Sterne Agee’s family of companies. During this time, he advised the firm’s Financial Advisors on investment strategies for their clients. Patrick was instrumental in the development and implementation of the first financial products marketing and support group for a century old investment firm. Additionally, Patrick performed manager due diligence and helped to maintain the relationships with the investment managers the firm partnered with. After spending the next 3 years with the firms' Private Client Group, Patrick moved home to Gulf Shores and formed Bussey Capital Management LLC.
Professionally, Patrick serves as a member of PIMCO's Independent FA Advisory Council; a group of 20 top advisors from across the country as well as his broker SA Stone’s Directors Advisory Council. Locally he has been involved with many organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of GUMBO (Gulf United Metro Business Organization) and is Past Chairman of the Board for the United Way of Baldwin County. Additionally, Additionally, Patrick serves as an appointed member on the Baldwin County Judicial Selection Commission. Patrick previously served on the board of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber where he was on the Executive Board as the Civic and Governmental Affairs Chair. He also is a past board member of Habitat for Humanity in Baldwin County and the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation. Patrick also previously served on the Vestry for St. Paul’s Chapel in Magnolia Springs.
In 2011, Patrick was named by Mobile Bay Magazine as one of the Top 40 under 40. This award recognizes 40 individuals in the area for their professional excellence, community service and leadership. He also was a graduate of the 2006 Class of the Alabama Leadership Initiative by Leadership Alabama. Patrick was a co-chairman of the 2008 American Heart Association-Art for Heart Gala.
Patrick was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up in Orange Beach, AL. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Investment Management and Finance and minor in Economics. While at the Capstone, Patrick was President of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi, a member of JASON’s as well as multiple honor societies.
Patrick currently holds his FINRA series 7 and 66 as well as his Life and Health Insurance License. He is licensed in Alabama, California, Coloroda, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, North Carolina and Texas.
On a personal level, Patrick lives in Orange Beach with his wife Amanda Ellis Bussey and son Finn. He enjoys saltwater fishing, traveling, cooking and personal fitness.
